Acceptance speech example. Let me begin by saying it's both an honor and privilege to stand before you as I accept the responsibility to serve as your next president of the ICFSEB.
I would also like to express my gratitude to Lisa Moore who through her leadership and commitment guided the conference to make it a much stronger organization. Lisa I look forward to working with you this coming year.
I also look forward to working with the board of directors as well as the Executive Director and her staff as we strive to take The Conference to the next level. We have a great team and it takes all of us together to move this organization forward.
When I think back to when I came aboard with the conference I remember that phone call from Dalene asking me if I would take the position of District 1 Director to fill the vacany of the late Jack Kaslaukus. I immediately told Dalene that I would think about it, because I knew I would have big shoes to fill. After a few day's I returned a call to Dalene to say that after consideration I would be honored to fill the vacany in memory of Jack. Jack I know you are looking over my shoulder right now. Barbara can't you hear Jack comment's to me. His spirit continues to be with the conference.
As we build a team remember there's an "I" in team. Everyone needs to take on their respectful roles with responsibility in order that we perpetuate the heritage that has been set before us as we shape the future of this great organization.
I'am optimistic about the future of The Conference. Key ingredient is we must adapt, change and learn.
In accordance with the goals that provide a foundation for our strategic planning process a vital component that will lead us in the future are the following;
1.to continue to be the premier source within the area of expertise.
2. to continue to be the examination service provider for the death care profession.
3. to continue to be the recognized information resource clearinghouse for the death care profession and the public.
4. to continue to be the regulatory support leaders for the death care profession.
5. to continue to support death care education.
So as we navigate together let's chart our course to a new horizan while maintaining the standard that our profession demands.
In closing (this acceptance speech), I leave you with this thought; by Frank Pryor. It speaks about VISION: If we don't have vision then we can't dream.
Vision is a process that allows you to think ahead to where you want to be and what you want to be doing, and to create a workable plan to lead you their. Thank you.
