Speech Topic: 3 Ways to Find The Speech Topics You Like

Speech topic selection steps for finding the speech topics you think are interesting for speech class and other public speaker assignments. You can also apply the three methods for writing essays. The more you like your topic, the more your audience will want to hear about it. There are three ways to determine your powerfields, interests, majors and pet peeves. Start with method number one and follow my recommendations.

METHOD 1

Just answer the questions and make a list of possible ideas for speeches:

1. What do you like to do in your spare time?
2. What are your hobbies?
3. What do you like to do at holidays?
4. What is your favorite travel destination?
5. What do you like to talk about with friends?
6. On what issue do you hold a strong opinion?
7. What issue do you like to know more about?
8. What values are you standing for?
9. What special expertise do you have?
10. What do you fix well?
11. What special skills do you have?
12. What special professional or personal experiences have you had in your life?
13. What speech topic or debate in the news recently focused your attention?

Associate. Lets say you like to talk about Paris Hilton. Now write down all things that come up in your mind. All the things related to Paris Hilton. E.g. her movies, fashion, scandals, photo shoots, her friends, and so on, and so on. In other words, you are building a topic tree around Mrs. Hilton. This method takes some time, but you can apply it on almost every candidate issue.

METHOD 3

Browse through the lists with 2,000 ideas for a speech:
