United We Stand - Writing a Speech
I am the spiritual leader of the Ibo Jews of Nigeria in Israel. I got an invitation letter inviting me for a confference in France by the black Jews. In their letter, I quote; "The black Jews in Paris have had sad experiences, not being made welcome in some Synagouges etc; that it might be prefferable to open a black Synagouge for black Jews here".
I have choosen the caption; "United we stand". My idea is to have a good speech, trying to let them know that in Judaism there has never been a thing approved as a black Synagouge.
A Synagouge is a place of worship for every religious and non religious Jew all over the world. Therefore, I should sugest that this first open forum should comprise of both black and white intellects and Jewish scholars of sorts all over the world.
I must say that for almost my Sixteen years in Israel, neither I, nor my fellow community members encountered such problems. I do hope that the Jewish associations and communities should inestigate on this matter to put an end to it.
Race in Judaism? I think its wrong, very wrong because we have identical faith and believe to our "respected doctrine". This open method of communication among all Jewish race that could lead to total love among all Jews is mostly what we need now.
Thanks.
Chief Hiben Daniel.
